Perlubie Landing or Perlubie Beach is a coastal area 20 km from the township of Streaky Bay on Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. Access to the beach runs through private property at the current time. The name 'Perlubie' is derived from Aboriginal, meaning 'white sand hill'. A school was opened in Perlubie in 1922, but closed in 1942. Perlubie Beach has become renowned on the Eyre Peninsula for its unique New Years Day Race Meet on the beach. The race is a 1600 m event along the beach at low tide and dates back to 1913, when the first race was held. The sea weathered stands and saddling enclosures are among the only notable historical structures in the area, used solely for the New Year's Eve Race meet.
